An Artist’s Vision

At the recent retrospective show held at the Center for the Arts Evergreen featuring Carolyn’s 80 years of making art, she delivered an address to a standing room only crowd. Her speech captured her vision of a life in art, and her ideas about what it means to be an artist. We posted the speech here on her website as an inspiration to everyone interested in learning to make and appreciate art. At 94 years old with severely compromised sight, she continues to create amazing works. In addition, she shares her knowledge and skills with the retirement community where she lives by teaching classes to interested residents. Hers is an amazing legacy when you consider all the people she has taught through the years and all the various work she has produced. To view a selection of her work, visit the galleries page.
